Through the theme “Republic of Macedonia as a tourist destination,” the organizers have decided to focus on the issue of quality-designed promotion of Macedonia in the world as an attractive tourist and cultural destination.
The main objective of the competition for student poster entitled “Republic of Macedonia as a Travel Destination”, organized by the Museum of City of Skopje, Plakart and the Embassy of Republic of Poland in Republic of Macedonia, is creating a poster with a contemporary appearance as a design product, which will promote the country with rich cultural heritage, preserved natural resources and rich spiritual treasury.
Moreover, this project is meant to unite the creative capacity in an attempt to attract the attention of potential visitors who would fell in love with Macedonia. Symbolically, the project was launched in April 2016 with the exhibition “Polish school of poster” that presented to the Macedonian public one of the oldest and most distinctive schools of posters and the Lecture by Laze Tripkov, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, which as postgraduate student at the Department lead by the marvelous poster-designer Lech Majewski is representative of the Polish school of poster.
Consequently, the project was implemented in the framework of the 9th Skopje Poster Festival, in November 2016, when a workshop of Ryszard Kaja took place. Polish illustrator, author of a vast series of posters for promotion of Poland, held a workshop for children on the above mentioned subject. Those paintings will be part of the main competition exhibition.
The call is available for undergraduate, master and doctoral studies in the faculties of arts, visual arts, architecture and design from all universities in the Republic of Macedonia.
The deadline for submitting posters is February 28th, and submissions shall be applied online at the following link: www.skopjeposter.com/gallery2.
Prizes
Award for the authors of the 3 winning poster will be a study travel in Poland in 2017 (up to 5 days) organized by the Embassy of Republic of Poland in Republic of Macedonia.
Honorary awards for 2 authors will be the opportunity to participate in designing the posters for the exhibitions organised by the Museum of City of Skopje during 2017 and possibility for student practice in MCS.
Format submissions
Each participant can apply with maximum 3 submissions (posters). The file must be JPG format with prep for printing in B2 format (500x700mm) with a resolution of 300 dpi with CMYK custom colors. Single file must not exceed 10mb.

Exhibition
The exhibition of 50 best works from the competition, along with the works from the children workshop lead by Ryszard Kaja, will be opened 15th of March at the Museum of Skopje.
